SUMMER SCHOOL    


The Summer Program offers students an opportunity to achieve additional credits toward their Graduation Diploma, to study subjects of interest, or subjects that cannot be accommodated during the regular school year. An upgrading and enrichment program is offered for those students who want to strengthen their mastery of skills or eliminate gaps in a subject area.
The program will run from:

Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, July 25. (Daily schedule: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm)

Academic Credits (see course descriptions)

The courses offered in the Summer Program conform to the Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines and are open to grade 9, 10, 11, and 12 students who wish to obtain new credits or improve their achievement in previously studied courses. Courses will be offered on the basis of a minimum ratio of 10:1. Schedule: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Grade 9 French (for beginners / new students)
Grade 10 Careers/Civics, Italian, Drama
Grade 11 Accounting, American History, Biology, Mathematics (college), Media Studies, Physics, Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology & Sociology.
Grade 12 Mathematics (Advanced Functions), Biology, Writer’s Craft


Upgrading Program

This program is designed for students in grades 9, 10 and 11, who need to strengthen their mastery of skills in a subject area. Courses are scheduled for 3 hours per day. They are offered mornings and/or afternoons for a total of 60 hours. This schedule will allow students to study one or two subjects according to personal needs. Courses will be offered on the basis of a minimum ratio of 10:1
Schedule: 9:00 am -12:00 pm or 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Skills Development Program / Sports Camps

The skills development program is designed to strengthen the skills of students entering the challenging four year High School program at Villanova College. Students will focus on enhancing their knowledge in Mathematics, French and English. This program is especially suitable for students entering high school in September and new students to the Middle School program at Villanova College. Courses will be offered on a the basis of a minimum ratio of 10:1. Schedule: 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Sports camps are offered from 12:30 to 4:00 for students who wish to be actively engaged in the afternoon.
