- What is the SSAT?
The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) consists of five parts: a
brief essay and four multiple choice sections: two quantitative, one
verbal and one reading.
-
- Why the SSAT Exam?
The exam aids the admission team in its selection of candidates. The
test is a measure of academic ability and problem solving.
-
- How do I register for the SSAT?
Students may register on the SSAT
website. The test is offered at many independent schools throughout
the Greater Toronto Area. The test dates (including Villanova) are listed
on the website. Student’s may take the test at any site, but students
who have applied to Villanova must indicate that the results be sent
to Villanova.
If you would like your child to sit the SSAT exam at
Villanova College on Saturday, November 15, 2008
you must register no later than Friday, October 31, 2008.
Please note that our Test Centre Number is 6967.
-
- Do I need to prepare my child for the Exam?
The SSAT does not endorse test preparation. Statistically there is not
a significant difference in test results for those students who take
prep courses. Doing practice tests may help some students who suffer
from test anxiety.
-
- Where can I get more information on the test?
Parents may contact SSAT at Info@ssat.org
This is the best means of communication for any needed information.
